Oct. 17 Home Game at Memorial Stadium @ Central MS (Sr. Night)

Friday, Oct. 17 Home Game Performance - 7:30 pm game time
**Please see this Linked Map map for directions on how to enter the parking lot at Central MS (different than in past)* this performance will be at Memorial Stadium @ Central Middle School Help load the trucks after school on Friday Help unload the trucks behind Central at 5:30 pm Be present and ready to start pre-show practice/warm-up at 5:45 pm (by the elevated parking lot by WCC... same as last year). Watch for cars in the back parking lots (will likely be pretty full!) Attached is a new map of how to get to the back parking lot of Central. This is where you should park. We will perform pre-game as well as our Full Show at Halftime. Please help load the trucks after half-time and unload back at West. You will be dismissed after the trucks are loaded (around 9:15 pm?)

State contest and valleyfest Itinerary 2025

This is our final contest weekend for the Wahawk Marching Band! The Band performs in State Competition at 12:40 pm at Dubuque Sr. High School and then travels to and performs at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines at 8:30 pm. Both Lunch and Supper will be provided for students by the West HS Band Boosters! (may want to bring healthy snacks though)
Please click on the button to see the full October 11th itinerary. Parents, please fill out the "Alternate Travel Plans Form" that is linked on the itinerary if you plan to drive your student home at the end of the evening (fill out by Oct. 10)

Above is the 2025-26 Summer/Fall Marching Band Schedule Letter!
(updated schedule as of 6-27-25 to reflect some differences for Color Guard)

This schedule applies to ALL students 2025-26 in grades 10-12 (you all are in marching band), 25-26 9th graders participating in marching band, and all color guard members.

Be aware there are two short practices in July (16 & 23) to get music handed out and get a jump on starting to learn our fundamentals and marching band music! Color Guard meets these days as well.

Leadership Team (includes all Seniors, Section Leaders, and Drum Majors) has some separate trainings on July 24, as well as Aug. 4 & 5(and help with new marchers)

Please get rehearsals, training, and performance dates on your calendars at home, and be sure that your employers have plenty of advanced notice so you can arrange your work schedule with band camp in mind.

Band Seeks Sponsors

Presently, the West High School Band is in the process of seeking sponsorships to help fund important educational opportunities for West HS Band Students, like music clinicians, fees for music festivals, providing supplemental instruction for the marching band, student leadership training, providing music and choreography for our students, and offset the cost of our semi-trailer expenses. We want to invite organizations and individuals to consider becoming a two-year sponsor with a few options of sponsorship levels to consider.
